About
Pastor Eric Wendel Lee, Sr. is a lifelong servant leader, community advocate, and Senior Pastor of Springfield Baptist Church, where he has led one of the region’s most impactful ministries for over two decades. A graduate of Morehouse College and Vanderbilt University Divinity School, Pastor Lee has dedicated his life to serving other, working in workforce development, advocating for children and families, and partnering with local governments and organizations to strengthen communities across metro Atlanta. Since becoming Senior Pastor in 1999, he has guided Springfield through extraordinary growth, expanding membership from just over 100 to more than 7,000 and building a multi-generational institution that provides education, outreach, and critical services to families throughout the region.
Throughout his career, Pastor Lee has remained deeply engaged beyond the pulpit, serving on boards and initiatives focused on education, economic opportunity, and community development. His leadership has earned statewide recognition, including being named one of Atlanta’s most influential pastors and completing the Leadership Georgia program alongside his wife. Whether supporting schools, mentoring youth, or helping families navigate challenges, Pastor Lee has built a reputation for bringing people together and delivering real, measurable impact.
Pastor Lee is running for State Senate because he believes our communities deserve leadership that is both principled and practical — leadership that understands the challenges families face every day and is committed to creating opportunity for all. From rising costs and economic development to education and quality of life, he is focused on solutions that strengthen families, support local communities, and move District 42 forward. His campaign is rooted in a simple belief: when we invest in people, work together, and lead with integrity, we can build a stronger, more inclusive future for everyone.
